i’ve tried to change the language from english to german but it doesn’t work.
Do you have any idea to change the language? Maybe it’s an easy thing but i can’t figure it out because on an other wordpress installation it worked out in german out of the box.

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for using our plugins.

We need more information about the translation system used on your site. If you are using plugins, like WPML, qTranslateX, WP Multilang, etc.. you have to switch the language in your admin area and you can update the text fields in the plugin’s settings. These are editable, you can translate for every language defined.
    You can read more here:

If it doesn’t work, please provide a detailed description of the issue in order to help on this.

i don’t use a translation system either on one of those two sites. The difference is that on site A there was a default translating after the plugin was installed and on site B there was no default translating only in english.

    Site A:
    Site B:

At both sites there is german as default backend language configured. I can’t figure out the mistake. I mean I can copy and paste it from site A to site B but in my opinion there should be a better solution!

    What do you think?

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for the details.

The translation works in the following ways:
    1. First time when you install the plugin, without saving the GDPR Cookie Compliance settings, the default text content will be loaded based on your site language (if a translation is available). After saving the settings, the values will be saved in the options.
    2. If you change the site language in the Admin -> Settings from English to German, the content in GDPR will be still English as this is saved in your database and not the default text is loaded.

As we highlighted above, all the texts are editable in the plugin settings, the default text (translated content) is loaded only on the first time when you install the plugin.
You can use the “Reset Settings” button in GDPR Cookie Compliance -> General Settings (tab) to reset the plugin, by this the translations will be loaded and you have to add your scripts and set up the branding again.

    Hope this makes sense.

Where do you edit the language of the Cookie Declaration button “hide / show” and the header texts in the table of the decleration ?

    Hi Mirann Jensen,

    Thanks for using our plugins.

Please update your premium add-on to version ‘2.7.5’ and you can translate the texts in the cookie declaration table.
